Henry Ford Health

Externs train at four Detroit-area medical centers and/or hospitals for a full calendar year, starting July 2025. The experience includes the provision of a full range of audiologic services to patients of all ages. Diagnostic services include behavioral and electrophysiological assessment of hearing and balance function; treatment services include the selection, fitting, and verification of hearing aid amplification and other assistive and implantable devices. Externs are encouraged to participate in clinic-based research. Students should be comfortable with basic audiometric exams and have a high level of motivation and professionalism.
